Meet Your Teacher
Jay Vince-Cruz
Jay Vince-Cruz is a passionate musician with a journey that has been anything but conventional. Inspired by watching his older sister play the piano, he began taking lessons at the age of seven, even rounding up his age to meet the piano teacher’s requirement. Over the years, Jay's love for music deepened, and he began performing as an accompanist at school and church.
Since college, he worked part-time as a church accompanist to help pay for his education, while pursuing a career in IT and financial services. Despite initially planning to pursue music later in life, Jay felt a calling that led him to a full-time position as Director of Sacred Music within weeks of opening himself to the idea.
During his eleven years in this role, he had the privilege of working with musicians at all levels and learned that there’s always room for growth in music, regardless of one’s experience.
Jay believes that music is a spiritual journey for everyone, and whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or revisiting it, the experience can be both enlightening and fulfilling.
He’s excited to share his musical journey with others and hopes to inspire both new and seasoned musicians along the way.

Do I need to be able to read music?
Not at all. You’ll learn a very simple notation system inside the course that’s intuitive and bowl-friendly — no sheet music or staff paper required.
Do I need an octave set of crystal bowls to take this course?
Nope. While the course is structured around an 8-bowl octave to teach musical principles clearly, you can still apply the lessons with a smaller set or mixed instruments. The concepts work across many types of bowls and sound tools.
Is this course only for crystal singing bowls?
Crystal bowls are the primary instrument used in the lessons, but what you’ll learn applies to Tibetan bowls, gongs, flutes, tuning forks, chimes, and even your voice. Jay also shares composition ideas and guidance that work with multiple sound healing tools.
